Hilbert Lions October 2025 Meeting
Meeting called to order by President Gary Lemke October 23rd. 6:34PM at the Hearthstone Pfister Room.
17 members were present.
Motion made by Jean Green and seconded by Buck Bowe to approve the Secretary Report
Treasurer Report was given
New Member
Logan Beyer was present as a new member.
Old Business
- Gary called out to the membership to seek out speakers at future meetings for presentations of 15-30 minutes
- Members are needed to attend the Lions District Convention. Bruce/Darcey as board members may attend.
- Gary reported the lay of the land and support needed at the Lions Medical Locker/Salvatorian Center.
- Roger Joas reported 582 boxes of Cereal donated to the area food pantry with an additional monetary donation from the Hilbert Lions Club.
- Brady reported on the Zone Meeting.
- Additional discussion from Gary on the need for club publicity.
- Brady reported on the progress of the future Hilbert Veterans Memorial.
- There was communication on influencing members to sign up for committees. Gary is seeking a second and third vice to aid in developing future leadership.
- A thank you was received for providing in-site of ramp regulations to a family in Chilton.
- Thank You cards were received from the Sweere, Wagner, Pethan, Carnie Families, and New Hope Center.
New Business
- Motion Made by Wes Grube and seconded by Tom Konen to purchase District Convention Raffle tickets.
- Motion made by Wes Grube and seconded by Brady Ehlen for the December 4th Christmas Party at the Village Hearthstone. $30 a person to include the tip. Choice of Cod or SirloinSteak with a minimum of 40 guests. The club may reach out and invite Community Sponsors/Past members. Tickets will be purchased by the club.
- Motion made by Tony Woelfel and seconded by Brady Ehlen to donate $500 to the Shane Plath Cancer Benefit.
- Alicia spoke on the purchasing t-shirts for club publicity
- Motion Made by Wes Grube and seconded by Chad Eichmeier to purchase Hilbert Lions Club T-Shirts. Polo Shirts can be purchased by individual members.
- Motion made by Wes Grube and seconded by Don Price to donate $500 to the annual Thanksgiving Express.
- Gary would like more activity pictures sent to social media and local newspapers
Activity Report
- Raffle tickets are available to pick up from Chad Eichmeier. We are looking for an MC for the event.
- Weather permitting, Wes is looking at having Delightfully Calumet set up day November 8 and/or 9.
- Wes reported Vision Screening was completed by Wes/Cassandra/Darcey at the Hilbert Area Schools.
- Meeting adjourned 7:56PM. Next meeting will be November 20th Hilbert Community Center with the meal picked up by Cassandra. 6PM Board/7PM Meeting.
