WHO ARE THE HIGHWORTH & DISTRICT LIONS

We have proudly served the Highworth community for more than 40 years!

Our members are very different in many ways, but we share a core belief - our community is what we make it.  That's because we help where help is needed.  In short, We Serve!

Here are some of the things our club has done recently:

  • Donations -  between 1997 and 2013 the Highworth Lions Club gave away a over £400,000 to good causes both locally and internationally?
  • Mini Bus -  Highworth Lions Club provide a 14 seated mini bus free of charge for use by local community organisations
  • Local Youth – Highworth Lions Club sponsor both Supermarine Junior Rugby Club and the Highworth Junior Football Team?
  • Charity Shop - Highworth Lions Club run a local charity shop in Newburgh area, run entirely by volunteers, no salaries are paid.
  • The Elderly -  Highworth Lions Club organise a subsidised coach trip for the elderly every year and give them a Voucher to help make their Christmas a little happier..
  • Message in Bottle -  Highworth Lions provide not a song but a way for 100s of vulnerable people in Highworth to keep vital medical information in their homes where the emergency services can find it when needed.
  • Eye Sight - Highworth Lions recycle eye glasses to help communities abroad and contribute to Lions sight related initiatives worldwide.
  • Healthy Living - Highworth Lions have organised local sessions for health checks and advice on giving up smoking.
