BRAT SALES
We cook and sell brats, porkburgers, and hot dogs throughout the year to raise money to fund our community support projects. You can find us at the following events:

EARL STEINER MEMORIAL DAY BIATHLON

Our annual Earl Steiner Memorial Day Biathlon is the single largest one day fund raiser we have. We attract approximately 450 athletes from Southern Illinois and the St Louis area. There are five different events to choose from: Lions Biathlon, Lions Team Biathlon, Leo Biathlon, 5 mile run, and new for 2023, a 5K run. LIONS GIRLS BASKETBALL LEAGUE
The Highland Lions sponsor a girls basketball league for girls ages nine through thirteen. It began in 1978 with 32 girls on four teams and has grown to over 160 girls on eleven teams plus four travelling teams which play teams from nearby communities. The Lions provide uniforms, referees, scorekeepers and, when needed, coaches. During the two weekends after Christmas, the Lions sponsor a fifth grade tournament and a sixth grade tournament. COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
We award two $1500 scholarships each year. One is open to Highland High School graduates and the other is open to any student who lives in the Highland School district regardless of school attended. See your school's guidence department for more informaiton.
HOT CHOCOLATE
At the annual Christmas parade welcoming Santa Claus to Highland, we prepare and give away hot chocolate to show our appreciation to the community for the support we get throughout the year. The parade is every year, the Friday evening after Thanksgiving.
CANDY DAY
We help raise money the 2nd weekend in October on Candy Day to support the Lions of Illinois Foundation's thirteen programs to provide to the hearing and visually impared in Illinois. Lions will be giving away rolls of candy and accepting monetary contributions. You will find a Lions Club member at the entance to many local businesses on that day.
