Lions Clubs International

Since 1925 when Helen Keller challenged the Lions to take up the cause of the visually impaired by becoming “Knights of the Blind in the crusade against darkness”, service to the blind has become one of Lionism’s most significant activities. In addition, Lions participate in service activities emphasizing diabetes awareness, education and research; work with the physically and mentally impaired; environmental issues; community welfare; international understanding and youth. Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service organization with more than 1.4 million members in over 180 countries. Lions Clubs International is headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois.
