Good men, hard workers. That's what these men proved to be when a member of our community needed a new ramp in order to get in and out of her home. Mike Bechtel (left), Terry Dudley (right) and Ed Doolin (taking picture) worked two weekends and then some to complete this ramp. Thanks guys, we're proud of you all!
Flag Country: Hardin, Texas, is flag country thanks to the dedicated Lions who put flags up 6 times a year. It is a hard enough job without the weather being cold or too hot but nothing stops our workers from putting up 431 flags for our 146 customers. It's a beautiful sight to see Old Glory flying and it's our beautiful people who make it possible.
Dorothy and Weldon Nettles use their 4-wheeler to get their flags up for Presidents' Day
For every flag there is an American saying "I am proud to be an American", and the Lions are proud to be a part of this celebration of patriotism.
AUCTIONS: Twice a year, the Hardin Lions hold an auction of the Hardin High School's art - proceeds going to their scholarship program. Other donated items are also auctioned to benefit the community. But the best part are the auctions for children, not a big fundraiser but a great big fun-raiser. The children don't have much money but they sure do have enough enthusiasm.
February is the time for the Lions Club chili dinners in Hardin. A perfect time to enjoy good food and good people.
