✏️ School Box Project – Equipping Young Minds for Success
Every child deserves the chance to walk into their classroom confident, prepared, and ready to learn. The School Box Project makes that possible.
In the city of Costa Mesa, eight low-income elementary schools serve hundreds of students whose families struggle to provide basic school supplies. Through the School Box Project, Lions step in to change that story.
Each year, we equip 350–400 first graders with a complete set of essential learning tools — giving them everything they need to start their school year with pride and confidence.
🎒 Every child receives a lightweight backpack filled with:
- Pencil box
- 2 pencils
- Eraser
- Pencil sharpener
- Blunt-edge scissors
- Colored pencils
- Markers
- Ruler
- Glue stick
These simple tools create powerful results. When students arrive prepared, teachers can focus on teaching, children can focus on learning, and families feel the support of a community that cares.

💤 Pajama Project -Comfort When It’s Needed Most
Inspired by the Lions of District 4-L4
Every child deserves the comfort of feeling safe, warm, and cared for — especially during times of uncertainty.
The Pajama Project, inspired by the compassionate work of the Lions of District 4-L4, brings a small but powerful act of kindness to children entering foster care.
Each year, Lions and community supporters come together to collect new, warm pajamas for children who have been removed from their homes and placed into the foster system—often with little or nothing of their own.
Through this heartfelt effort, 400–600 pairs of pajamas are collected and distributed to foster youth in need.
✨ Why pajamas?
When a child arrives in a new and unfamiliar place, something as simple as a warm pair of pajamas can provide comfort, dignity, and a sense of belonging.

Hundreds of children experience a moment of warmth and reassurance during a difficult transition—reminding them that their community cares.
Through the Pajama Party Project, Lions are delivering more than pajamas…
they’re delivering comfort, compassion, and hope.
🧣 Blanket Project – Warmth That Reaches the Streets
A simple blanket can mean the difference between comfort and suffering for someone living on the streets.
Through the Blanket Project, Lions come together to collect and purchase warm blankets that are delivered directly to local outreach shelters. These shelters take the blankets into the streets, placing them directly into the hands of individuals experiencing homelessness.
This project ensures that warmth reaches the people who need it most — right where they are.

🧦 Socks for Shelter – Small Packs. Big Impact.
Sometimes the smallest items bring the greatest comfort.
Through the Socks for Shelter Project, Lions assemble care packs designed to provide warmth, hygiene, and dignity to individuals experiencing homelessness. Several times each year, Lions come together to prepare lightweight backpacks filled with essential items that make daily survival a little easier.
🎒 Each backpack includes:
- Thermal blanket
- Warm scarf
- Knit cap
- New socks
- Basic toiletries and hygiene items
These care packs are distributed through local shelters and outreach teams who place them directly into the hands of those living without stable housing.
👐 Lions complete this service project three times each year, preparing and distributing approximately 100 care packs annually.

👁️ Vision Project – Restoring Sight. Strengthening Community.
Clear vision changes lives — and Lions are proud to help make that possible.
Through the Vision Project, Lions partner each January with Lions Friends in Sight to host a community eye clinic dedicated to providing essential vision care for those who might otherwise go without.
This impactful service brings together Lions volunteers, eye care professionals, and community partners to deliver free vision screenings and access to eye care resources for individuals and families in need.

🌟 Project Hope Alliance– Changing the Future, One Child at a Time
Project Hope Alliance works to break the cycle of homelessness by providing support, resources, and opportunities that help vulnerable children build stable and successful futures.
Our Lions Club proudly partners with this mission by helping homeless high school seniors celebrate the milestone of graduation. Lions provide support for important senior expenses such as graduation caps and gowns, yearbooks, and senior activities — ensuring students who have overcome significant challenges can stand proudly with their classmates.
Throughout the year, Lions also support Project Hope Alliance through community food drives, hands-on volunteer service organizing food inventory, and holiday programs that bring joy to children and families.
The impact: Together, Lions and Project Hope Alliance help provide hope, stability, and encouragement so students can graduate with confidence and move toward a brighter future.

🍳 Ronald McDonald House Service – Comfort Through a Warm Meal
When families are caring for a child receiving medical treatment, every moment matters — and everyday tasks like preparing meals can become overwhelming.
Through our Ronald McDonald House Service Project, Lions step in to provide a simple but meaningful act of care. Twice each year, our Lions volunteers prepare and serve a fresh, home-cooked breakfast for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
These families are often far from home, focused entirely on the health and recovery of their children. A warm breakfast and welcoming smiles provide a moment of comfort, nourishment, and community during an incredibly challenging time.

Honoring our military means showing up with gratitude, care, and meaningful support.
Through Operation Military Christmas, Lions across the district come together to assemble special holiday care bags for active-duty service members who may be stationed far from home during the holiday season.
These thoughtfully prepared Military Christmas Bags are filled with comfort items and small gifts designed to bring a touch of home and holiday spirit to the brave men and women serving our country.

Great service grows when Lions work together.
Our club proudly makes it a priority to support and collaborate with fellow Lions clubs, strengthening projects that benefit the entire community. By sharing volunteers, energy, and experience, we help ensure that important service initiatives reach even more people.
Our members regularly step up to assist with vision clinics hosted by other clubs, helping bring critical eye care services to those who need them most. We have also joined fellow Lions in supporting community events such as the Costa Mesa Lions Fish Fry, a popular local fundraiser that helps generate resources for additional community service.
