Pediatric Cancer:
The Hammonton Lions club has named October as Pediatric Cancer month. We partnered with Saint Christopher’s Hospital for Pediatric Cancer in Philadelphia. Each October we collect for Saint Christopher’s. Our club visits Saint Christopher’s Hospital, to donate food to their food pantry and money The money goes towards helping families pay their mortgage or bills.
Great Cash Giveaway Raffle:
The raffle is the club's major fundraiser. There are 300 tickets sold at $100/ticket. All proceeds go to Hammonton Lions' sight and community projects.
Recycling Central:
The Hammonton Lions participate in this event each year and collect eye glasses and hearing aids.
ALS Walk:
Each year, the Hammonton Lions walk as Jack's Pack in honor of Past President Jack Pagano who succumbed to this disease. The ALS Walk is held in Ocean City, NJ The club has donated over $15,000
Field of Dreams:
The Hammonton Lions participate in the Field of Dreams twice/ year and donate to this children's organization. This project, in Absecon, NJ, provides handicapped children the opportunity to play soft ball on teams. Lions donate their time to run the refreshment stand during the games and the club makes a donation each year. This year, the club plans to donate $300.
Covenant House, Atlantic City, NJ:
The Hammonton Lions collect toiletries and clothing for Covenant House each Christmas. In addition, the club as well as some Lions make donations to this worthy cause. This organization houses homeless teens and young adults providing them with food, shelter and educational opportunities.
Lions Kids Sight USA:
The Hammonton Lions are participating in an eye screening program which screens young children for eye problems at an early age. The program has been very successful in kindergarten and first grade in the Hammonton School District. Plans are being made to continue the screening in that district and to expand to a neighboring district.
Eye Exams/Eye Glasses:
The Hammonton Lions Club provides free eye exams and eye glasses to need children and families. There is referral form that must be completed to determine need. Contact the Sight Chairperson for additional information (under Contact Us)
