WHAT ARE WE UP TO IN GREERTON ?
The Greerton Lions Club continues to contribute to various community projects:
* In the months to come the club is providing a "work force" for a number of activities run by Greerton Village Mainstreet. We are scheduled to assist the Tauranga Multicultural Group and will continue to support local charities with street collections at Greerton Countdown.
* Recent high profile projects have included "Yarn Bombing" the trees in Greerton for the street festival in July.
* In September a night at the theatre is planned. The Club is hoping to sell out the 16th Ave Theatre where a Roger Hall comedy,"LAST LEGS" directed by Julie Lankshear is set to play. A date for the performance willbe advised soon.
* A "Tidy up Greerton" project is coming up - and this will see Lions painting, gardening and helping with the project.
* The Club is supporting Aquinas College with funding for their upcoming work trip to Fiji during the school holidays.
* A project that is on-going is continuing to care for the young native trees planted in LIONS GROVE, TECT PARK. Keeping the weeds under control.
