Meetings

The GV Lion’s Club is proud to be able to provide free eye screenings for all school children ages K through grade 12 during the Back to School Fair at both Grandview and Itasca school districts. Eye screenings are provided by trained volunteers through the Lions Eye & Organ Bank. Children identified as possibly needing eye glasses are referred to the school nurse. The BTS Fair is hosted and coordinated through the efforts of many groups, churches, local businesses and dedicated individuals. During the BTS Fair, children are treated to free snacks and lunch, free dental examinations, haircuts plus a set-up of free school supplies. This community event is hosted by most all churches, local businesses and civic-minded families here in Grandview.

Grandview Lions are a "100%" Club, meaning that we support Lions International and pay our percentage to support worthy programs including the District 2 E2 Lion’s Organ and Eye Bank.

We are very active in our community and provide support to a lengthy list of educational and community oriented programs deemed worthy by leaders in the community.

We support our Grandview Volunteer Fire Department and Veteran's Memorial Park as needed.

GV Lions provide support to Meals on Wheels of Johnson, Ellis & Navarro County and have delivered to local area citizens.

The GV Lion’s Club supports our Grandview Independent School District by hosting an appreciation breakfast for the teachers and administrators at the beginning of their fall back to school kick-off meeting.

Each spring, the Lion’s Club provides a deserving GVISD High School Senior a scholarship designated for payment of their college tuition. Last year, the scholarship amount was $750.00.

We give to Texas' based Computers for the Blind and Lions World Services for the Blind which provides quality services to visually impaired and/or blind people including District 2-E2 Lions Organ & Eye Bank.

We proudly support Texas Lion’s Camp at Kerrville, TX founded in 1947, which is a wonderful summer program benefitting children with disabilities.

Club projects have also included working with Habitat for Humanity to provide homes for deserving families right here in our community.

There are occasional opportunities to help someone that are not anticipated or planned for each year. Grandview Lions stand ready to assist if a need arises.

The public is always invited to attend our gatherings in order to learn more about the gift of volunteering locally and serving others.
