We support Northwestern Polytechnic
Grande Prairie Lions funds several bursaries at the Northwestern Polytechnic to which students make application. The bursaries provide financial aid to the students so they can continue post-seondary education. The bursaries are given to recognize Lion Rob Coulter, Lion Bruce Thornicroft, Lion Bjarne Tangen, Lion Dr. Robert Hook, Lion Dr. Torguhil Mathewson, Lion Don Hoveland, and Lion Bob Leech who were all members of our club and who had made or have made a strong contribution to the continued success of the club. Thank you goes to all of those recipients.
Lions Project Maple Leaf
Lions Project Maple Leaf is an activity for Canadian Lions Clubs It is an opportunity to demonstrate to your communityhow proud you are to be a Canadian and a Lion. A flag and a Lions Project Maple Leaf certificate are presented to grade 1 students. Volunteers work with students to explain the importance of Canada Day.
