WORKING WITH SCHOOLS
We have supported visiting pupils from Germany who attended Sir John Nelthorpe School on an exchange visit.
The Cubs Youth Officer will be contacting local schools to offer our services:
We are offering the Lions Young Leaders in Service where the children can use this as part of the Duke of Edinburgh scheme.
This year’s theme for our Peace Poster is “Peace Without Limits” so if there is a Primary School wishing to participate in this competition, please let us know.
The Peace Essay competition is for visually impaired children to write an essay on the same theme as the Peace Poster ‘Peace Without Limits’.
Grow a Seed - Glanford and Lindsey Lions Club have obtained peat free seed pods and sun flower seeds for each year 6 pupil in schools within our area to grow a flower and see how high they can grow.
CPR Training – Again in the summer term Glanford and Lindsey Lions will be providing training and awareness for year 6 pupils in the schools within our area.
HOSPITAL TRAUMA LIONS:
We are proud to provide a small soft toy Lion to the Scunthorpe Hospital A&E and Disney Ward. These soft toys can be given out by the nurses as comfort toys to brave young children who have been admitted into hospital. The children get to keep these toy Lions and can take them home when discharged from hospital.
