                    Fort Lewis Lions Club

                    Salem, Virginia

Fort Lewis Lions Club was organized in Jan. 1953 and Charted by Lions International April 10, 1953. Salem Lions Club was ou Sponsor. District 24E Website:  www.virginia-24e-lions.org

Over the years, the club has become an integral part of the Fort Lewis/ Glenvar Community providing many needed services including eye exams, glasses, eye screenings for school children, eyeglass recycling, hearing exams and assistance with hearing aids.

We provide monetary support to the Old Dominion Eye Bank, Leader Dog School for the Blind in Rochester, Michigan, and numerous local agencies and groups that provide services to those in need in our area.. A recent addition to our financial support is Camp Too Sweet, which is co-sponsored by Carilion Clinic. This is a camp for diabetic children that provides them with an opportunity to be in overnight camp with their peers in a totally medically supervised environment where they can do the things all campers do including swimming, hiking, etc.
