LIONS CLUB OF FAIRLOP - ANNUAL VAISAKHI FUNDRAISER 2013
The Lions Club of Fairlop hosted their annual Vaisakhi fundraising event to raise funds for eye camps in Punjab, India at the City Pavilion, Colliers Row on Saturday 20th April.
The evening was a huge success with over 700 people attending and just under £35k of funds raised for the eye camp which will be taking place in February and March next year.
The evening was hosted by NU Sound radio presenters Tari and Chas and the entertainment was provided by live bands, Bhangra legends Heera and Apna Sangeet group which had almost all the guests on their feet until the early hours of Sunday morning. There were magicians doing close up magic as the guests arrived and later in the evening they enjoyed the thrill of the Casino playing Roulette and Black Jack.
Monies were raised by a combination of Auctions, raffles, a fun Casino and a 70 page brochure of adverts which was very kindly supported by the local business community.
The President of the Club Tajinder Marway and all the members of Fairlop Lions would like to thank everyone who supported the event and hope they will return next year.
