EXETER LIONS CLUB ERECT FRIENDSHIP
ARCH IN MACNAUGHTON PARK 12/11/2014
Drivers traveling along Main street in Exeter will notice a large white structure placed in MacNaughton Park. No, it's not a white squirrel; it's the Exeter Lions Friendship Arch; which was designed to show the community that the Lions are active in our area. One of the members who got the ball rolling on the project was Lions member and Ward 2 Councillor, Craig Herbert, who tells myFM News the idea for the arch started a few years ago, he just made it happen. He says the Arch is a representation on the Lions Clubs' presence in Exeter and how they are here to serve the community. Herbert says the club spends about $10,000 per year to maintain the park, something most people may be unaware of. He says thanks to fundraising and donations they make it all possible.
