Early education is critical to helping our young children from low-income families become school-ready. Children enrolled in Head Start are 31% less likely to be held back a grade, and they have a higher likelihood of graduating high school and attending college.
In partnership with the Community Action Council of Howard County (CAC) and Ellicott City-Columbia Lions Club, I dedicated a new CAC bus to serve low-income students enrolled in early education at Howard County Head Start centers so all our students can receive the education they deserve.
Past International President Clem Kusiak, DG Ben Foster, and Howard County Executive Calvin Ball join the Ellicott City-Columbia Lions Club at the dedication of a school bus for Head Start by a donation of $40,000 by the Club.
