  1. EAP (Eyeglass Assistance Program) – In cooperation with area eye care providers, eye exams and glasses are provided for low income students and adults. 
  2. SchoolSight - Eye screenings of 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 8th grade students in the public schools.
  3. KidSight  – Eye screenings of preschool students.  
  4. Scholarships -The Elkhart Lions award scholarship money to the local Dollars for Scholars Fund from the Walter E. Lerner Scholarship fund at the Community Foundation of Elkhart County.
  5. Eyeglass Collection and Sorting –Used eyeglasses are collected, cleaned (using a high-tech ultrasound machine), prescriptions read, and glasses filed and boxed to be transported to Mexico for the district’s eyeglass mission.
  6. Eyeglass Mission to Mexico - Several members spend one week fitting and distributing eyeglasses to clients in Mexico.
  7. Christmas Giving – Members contribute money and the Elkhart Lions match funds. The funds are used for the Mosaic Program (adopt 2 clients) and Salvation Army Adopt a Family. Donations were also made to the Salvation Army Meals Program.
  8. Flags From The Heart – This is a joint project of the Elkhart and Dunlap Lions clubs. Over 200 dedicated flags are flown in Bicentennial Park in downtown Elkhart over the Memorial Day weekend. 
  9. Through club funding and a grant from LCIF earned by contributions of Elkhart Lions, a kiln was purchased for use by the Elkhart Art League.
  10. Many members volunteer in the community by working as Red Coats at EGHS, ushering at the Lerner Theater, volunteering at Church Community Services and in the Greenhouse at CCS, the Art League, and working at the Woodlawn Nature Center.
  11. The Elkhart Lions contributes annually to the Indiana Lions’ state projects: Cancer Control at Indiana University; the Eye and Tissue Bank; Leader Dogs for the Blind; Indiana Lions Speech & Hearing; and the Indiana School for the Blind. It also contributes to Lions Clubs International Foundation, the charitable arm of Lions Clubs International where Lions compassionate work provides grant funding for local and global humanitarian efforts.
