Turkey Supper Project

One important fundraiser for the East Prospect Lions is a Turkey Supper Project.  This project started more than 50 years ago and currently involves the East Prospect Playground Association and the East Prospect Fire Company, two other community organizations.  Each spring and fall each organization sponsors a turkey supper, but members of the three organizations help with all three suppers.  The commitment needed to put on the supper is greater than any one organization, so by working together, we are able to help each other and to help each organization reach its fund raising goals.  It takes almost a week to prepare the food for the supper, and the last supper that the East Prospect Lions did required us to prepare stuffing, cook 700 pounds of turkey and serve over 450 dinners, all of which were take outs.  The following pictures give you a sense of some of the important activities involved, and, although it is a lot of work, we still have fun.The Chief Turkey Chef is Lion Bruce.
