Meetings

The Easton Leo Club is the youth chapter of the Easton Lions Club and was founded by TJ Deen on November 17, 2007. We now have an active group of 9 amazing kids, of which the majority attends Joel Barlow High school.

Our main goal is to help people with visual impairments, as both Leos and Lions are known as the “Knights of the Blind.” Besides our dedication to helping those in need, we also help our community in any way that we can. Some of the projects that we have done so far are:
  • Bake sales at sport events
  • Help out with Samuel Staples Halloween party
  • Honey baked ham fundraiser
  • Create and sell calendars and bracelets
  • We offer Facepainting
  • We are in contact with the Aspetuck Landtrust and will help with local nature projects when needed.
  • We’ve visited Fidelco and walked blind folded with a guide dog
  • We have met other Connecticut based Leo Clubs during the CT Leo Conference
  • We have created our own shirts
  • Help out with responsible dog owner day in Shelton
  • Created boxes to collect old eyeglasses
  • There’s a fun rewarding activity at the end of each year

Recently we've donated a nice check to Fidelco, with whom we continue to have an outstanding relation.

For 2010 we have taken on our largest project yet. When we heard that the Easton animal shelter was is need of support, we decided to organize an event to support both the Town of Easton Animal Shelter as well as the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation.

We are proud to present our:

"Wet Kisses and Dirty Paws”

An AKC® Responsible Dog Ownership Day

in collaboration with the Trap Falls Kennel Club

We've dedicated a separate page that will give you all details of this exciting event.

SAVE THE DATE: SEPTEMBER 4TH, 2010!
