30^th ANNUAL ALL ISLAND ESSAY COMPETITION ON "PREVENTION OF DRUG ABUSE"

OPEN TO ALL SCHOOL CHILDREN IN THE AGE GROUP OF 15 TO 19

Lions Club of Dehiwela North (Lions International District 306 A 2) is pleased to announce that it's Annual All Island Essay Contest which commenced during the year 1993/94 will be conducted this year too for the 30" consecutive year. This is fully sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of E-CLUB OF GREATER SYDNEY & WYONG TUGGRAH, Australia (District 9685) and the project will be worked out as a joint initiative of the Rotary Club of Colombo South (District 3220) & the Lions Club of Dehiwela North.

INSTRUCTIONS:

(1) Open to all School children in the age group of 15 to 19.

(2) Medium: Sinhala, Tamil, or English

(3) TOPIC: "Impact of Drug Abuse - On self, the family & the Country"

(4) AWARDS: First 5 place winners in each language category will receive Rs. 15,000/=, Rs. 12,500/=, Rs. 10,000/=, Rs. 7,500/= & Rs. 5,000/= respectively as Cash prizes together with Medals & Certificates.

(5) All entries should reach the Project Chairperson on or before 21^st December 2023 (21/12/2023).

CONDITIONS:

(a) Essays should not exceed 5 pages if handwritten & 4 pages if typed. Please use only one side of A4 size sheet.

(b) Certification by the Head of the School is required in respect of the name, date of birth & the grade of the contestant and that the entry is the original work of the said student.

(c) Name & address of the participant including residential address be written in BOLD English letters together with contact phone number to facilitate communication with the winners.

(d) Decision of the Panel of Judges is final & no correspondence will be entertained.

(e) Entries will not be returned.
