Wreaths Across America
The Dallastown Lions Club participated in the annual Wreaths Across America program this year. Wreaths Across America honored all veterans across this wonderful nation and our local York County branch honored York County veterans. The ceremony was at the Susquehanna Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Saturday, December 17, 2016.
At the conclusion of the service, everyone picked up a wreath for their loved ones and placed them on their grave. Dallastown Lions Club has many deceased members who also served in our great military and members of our club were there to place wreaths on our fallen hero’s graves.
Thanks to all of our veterans and those who currently serve for without their great sacrifices we would not be the free nation we are.
Christmas Food Baskets
The Dallastown Lions Club has prepared for our annual Christmas Food Basket drive on Thursday December 16, 2016. Our very own Leo Club and our Marine JROTC cadets from the Dallastown Area Senior High School helped to pick up, sort and deliver the food baskets to our residents. Our Leos also provided over 400 cans from their very own food drive
Twenty-four families in the Dallastown area will receive baskets of food for their Christmas dinner on Tuesday December 20, 2016. A special thank you to the Dallastown Middle School children, under the supervision of their amazing teacher, Catherine Ross, for their hard work in collecting the cans and food goods for this project. Also, thanks to the Dallastown American Legion Auxiliary for their financial contribution to this cause.
By all of us working together, our most vulnerable residents will have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Adopt a Highway
The Dallastown Lions Club and Dallastown Leo Club conducted our semi-annual Adopt A Highway Road Clean Up on Hess Farm Drive along Lake Redman on Friday November 5, 2016. The level of the lake was lower than usual due to repairs and the Lions filled over 17 trash bags with garbage! Always remember that our environment is the responsibility of everyone.
