The name Leo Guard was selected by the original Leo’s Club members at Community Collaborate Charter High School at McLellan Park in 2009. The club was located two streets from the United States Coast Guard Station. At different times coast guardsmen came to the school and help teachers during classes. Since school opened in 2005  Three of those volunteers were lost in a  mid-air crash of their C130, Aircraft number CG1705 and a Marine Helicopter collided over the Pacific and crashed into the water near Cantilena Island. The Leo club voted to have their club named in remembrance of CG1705 crew missing and never recovered. The school closed and we have been looking for a local High School to maintain this tradition and Name.
