PROJECT PRIDE
The Comox Valley Monarch Lions Club helps build patriotism in Courtenay's young Canadians with their Project Pride. The Monarch Lions Club's Project Pride visits six Courtenay elementary schools teaching Grade 1 students a little bit about Canada and its history. The presentation at each school takes about 30 minutes with members of the Monarch Lions Club and an RCMP officer taking part. The kids are asked questions like how many provinces are in the country and where the capital is, but the entire affair is designed to be fun for the kids. At the end of the presentation, each child receives a certificate and a hand-held flag, and then the whole group sings 'Oh Canada.'
911 REFLECTIVE ADDRESS SIGNS
Comox Valley Monarch Lions Club has recently launched their new community project and fundraiser selling 911 Reflective Address Signs.
The 911 Reflective Address Signs are highly visible day or night and are made from the same tough materials as road signs. The 6”x18” aluminum blade is covered in Avery blue engineer grade reflective vinyl with 3” white reflective address numbers on each side. The pre-drilled holes on each corner make for easy installation.
We recognize that every second counts for an emergency vehicle to locate an address - even 2 minutes can mean a difference between life and death. All the money raised from this project goes directly back into our community. To place you order please call (250)338-0509 or visit www.911reflectivesign.ca
