Lions Recycle for Sight
Members of the Comer Lions Club place collection boxes for used eyeglasses in local businesses. We also collect eyeglasses, hearing aids and cell phones at our annual fair.
Lions Club International has been helping others through projects like this since its beginning to prevent blindness and improve eyesight. Contact us or visit lionslighthouse.org for more information to learn more about how the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation can help you.
Eye Exam and Eyeglasses Assistance
Lions Club International is dedicated to providing assistance for quality eye exams and the purchase of eyeglasses for those in need.
Lions Recycle for Habitat: Aluminum Can Recycling
Our club provides an aluminum recycling trailer. The cans are regularly collected and taken to metal recycling yard. All proceeds support the Habitat for Humanity. The recycling trailer is located at the Farmers Market in Comer, GA.
Madison County Food Bank
At each meeting, club members bring non-perishable items which are donated to the Madison County Food Bank. If the Tail Twister is up to some mischief and ends up collecting some minor fines, those proceeds also go to the Madison County Food Bank.
Annual Fruit Box Distribution
Each December, our club members prepare and deliver fruit boxes to a community elementary school for students, faculty and staff.
We also deliver fruit baskets to community assistance providers such as the local fire departments, first responders, police department, and the Madison County Food Bank.
