In just about any dresser drawer, one can find a pair of eyeglasses that are no longer being used. That same pair of eyeglasses can change another person's life.

Lions Recycle for Sight

That's why Lions Clubs International started the Lions Recycle for Sight program.  Everyone can help.

Throughout the year, Lions in our Colwich club collect used eyeglasses through a network of eyeglass collection boxes at city hall, the PO, and Dr. Rios' office.  The glasses are counted and then delivered to our regional facility in  Wichita.  From there, the eyeglasses make there way to where members sort, clean, repair, test and package each individual pair of eyeglasses.  Most of the recycled glasses are distributed to people in need in developing countries where they will have the greatest impact.

How You Can Help

If you have used eyeglasses you no longer need, you can donate them to one of our boxes.  Lions accept prescription and reading glasses, sunglasses and empty plastic and metal frames.  Children's glasses are especially needed.
