Cobourg Lakeshore Lions Club welcomes refugees

The Cobourg Lakeshore Lions Club is pleased to become a sponsoring organization with the Better Together Refugee Sponsorship Group, working to bring seven Syrian families to our community. The Lions motto is 'We Serve', and the members of our club will be able to serve in many ways that go far beyond financial assistance.

These refugees face many challenges in adapting to our culture and fitting into our society. Learning how to shop prudently, operate household appliances, establish bank accounts, enroll their children in school and the hundreds of other things that we do automatically will be new to them, and the members of the Cobourg Lakeshore Lions Club will be there to do our part.
