Once a year, in February, the CCEBH LIons Club sponsors a Speakers contest for high school students in our area. The contest is held at various levels, Club level, Zone level and Region level. Each student receives $25.00 for participation. The winner receives $100.00

Our last contest was held on Saturday February 16, 2016 at the Los Angeles Police Station in Boyle Heights.

Once a year our club holds a free eye screening at the Plaza de Mariachi in Boyle Heights.
Glasses are provided to those who are financially unable to purchase glasses on their own and in special cases, assistance in the form of guidance for surgery is provided . Our next event is November 20, 2016, same place Plaza del Mariachi. from 9:00-2:00 pm.

On Flag Day 2016, our club provided 650 flags to El Segundo Elementary School.
