OUR FIRST QUIZ NIGHT
Our first quiz night was held at Cannington Bowling Club who allowed us use of their function room . It was a great success. All fund raised at the event were donated to Camp Quality. The final total was $2500.00. There were teams from Camp Quality as well as from other Lions club and family and friends.
Our MC for the evening was Ian Derrick.
All questions and most of the planning was done by Jenny and Gordon Nichols. All prizes for the winners and the Raffles were donated by local business who kindly supported the evening with their great generosity.
Liasing with John Wollaston Primary School, The Lions Club of Canning Vale implemented a Peace Poster Competition. Lion Jackie Traupmann and Lion Pauline Atherton

Our very own Australian Idol finalist also took part and sang with the Variety Club Choir.

LETTERS OF GRATITUDE
It is always nice when someone says Thankyou.
This year we had a very 'different' baton that will no doubt become an icon for years to come.
One of our members, Lion Jack Denton has a very talented wife.
Julie made us a very special Lions Tail to carry with us.

SHAME ON YOU
THE LIONS CLUB OF GOSNELS
A rule of the marathon is that the team's baton has to be moving for the 24 hours around the track, with team members taking shifts to walk.
This is done on a trust basis.
After they had stolen our Club Banner (while we were all out walking for the cause), These guys hung it in their own marquee and had the nerve to settle down for a good nights sleep in our name.
Here they are!
Caught red handed in the act.
SPRUNG!!!!!
(and so began a saga. See "Playful Lions" on Homepage for the whole shocking story so far)
CHRISTOPHERS STORY
Christopher is nearly 15 years old and is the second oldest of four boys. A few years ago his parents realised that he had out grown the Trail-A-Longbike that he had by 10kg!!! Since then they have been trying to get a tandem to enable him to bike ride with his family.
The Lions Club of Canning Vale haave made it possible for the whole family to go on bike rides again, another opportunity for Christopher to get excercise. He looks fantastic on the bike; it is great to watch him.
