The Cabrillo Host Lions Club was established in the Aptos California area in 1961.  Aptos is a small community near Monterey Bay, about 80 miles south of San Francisco, California.  The Cabrillo name is in honor of Joao Rodrigues Cabrillo, a Spanish (or Portugese) explorer who in 1542 was the first European to navigate the coast of present day California.

The Cabrillo Host Lions Club is included in Lions Disctrict 4C6, which covers most of Santa Clara County, California, as well as Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito Counties.

The Cabrillo Host Lions Club is also part of the worldwide Lions Club International, an organization of over 40,000 Lions clubs in over 200 countries. http://lionsclubs
