Father Christmas arrives at the Christmas Lights switch on in Burnham.

Once again Burnham Lions were out in force helping to control the crowds who came to watch the entertainment prior to the lights switch on. Not only that, we brought Father Christmas on our Christmas train to bring pleasure to the children and hand out bags of sweets. A great time was had by all, especially Father Christmas who loves being with the children.

A large majority of the money raised through charity events and collections stays local to enhance local carers groups, local community and local people.

These projects have included not only sponsoring and financing but also to the extent that Lions actually got their hands dirty by painting the interior of the Bay Club and have offered to paint the interior of the Community Centre.

Other projects range from organising a sing song to hosting the Carnival Queen competition.

Anyone interested in helping to enhance the local community in this way would be welcome as a Lion.
