March 5, 2021 - Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club members dropped off donations of newborn blankets, sweaters, and hats to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens. Items were hand crocheted with loving care by club member Barbara Pramberger D'Ambrosio.
November 9, 2020 - Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club collected and shipped nearly seven pounds of excess Halloween Candy to Operation Gratitude for their Halloween Candy Give-Back Program! Operation Gratitude adds candy donations from across the country to Care Packages which they distribute to Deployed Troops, Veterans and First Responders!
November 7, 2020 - Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club and friends cleaned the plaza and nearby grassy areas and sidewalk on the west bound side of Queens Blvd. near Main St. in Briarwood/Kew Gardens.
September 24, 2020 - Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club members dropped off donations of newborn sweaters and hats to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens. Items were hand crocheted with loving care by club member Barbara Pramberger D'Ambrosio.
January 28, 2020 - Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club set up an Eyeglass Collection Box located at Teachers Federal Credit Union (TFCU) at 139-30 Queens Blvd., Briarwood, NY 11435, as part of the Lions Clubs’ Recycle for Sight program.
January 20, 2020 - Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club members celebrated the life of Martin Luther King Jr. with service this MLK Day! We helped make hundreds of “just add water” dried soup packages to distribute through Commonpoint Queens' Central Queens Digital Food Pantry. - Click here to see pictures.

November 18, 2019 - December 17, 2019 - Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club collected toys, books, and winter clothes and accessories for the Dept. of Education in conjunction with the Dept. of Homeless Svcs. Items will be delivered to children living in shelters throughout NYC for the holidays.
December 9, 2019 - Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club donated 30 New Teddy Bears to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens for children who are in the hospital at the holidays! Each bear was dressed in a sweater and hat lovingly hand-crocheted by club board member and Master Crocheter Lion Barbara D'Ambrosio. - Click here to see pictures.

October 14, 2019 - Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club members dropped off new Halloween costumes at the NYPD Transit District 20 collection bin in the Briarwood subway station for children living in homeless or domestic violence shelters as part of the Volunteers of America - Greater New York 'Halloween Heroes Costume Drive'!
September 28, 2019 - The Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's-Queens to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support, and research. We were honored to be at this inspiring event and to join in the fight against this terrible disease! June 17, 2019 - Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club was at the Robert A. Van Wyck MS217 graduation to hand out prizes for an essay contest that we sponsored in association with Friends of Maple Grove and Fave Realty. We handed out prizes to the five winning essayists and awarded a new laptop to one grand prize winner!
June 8, 2019 - Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Love the Environment! Volunteered with the NYC Parks Dept. Stewardship Team and the Natural Areas Conservancy to protect forested areas in Forest Park, Kew Gardens. Trail work included identifying and removing invasive plants as well as closing trails in order to help restore the forest and create a healthier ecosystem.
May 18, 2019 - Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club members had a great time having a table at The Kew Gardens Craft Fair & Flea Market! Vendor fees raise money for Jamaica Hospital’s Pediatric Dept. & items we sold raised funds for our club's svc activities!

May 4, 2019 - Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club collected and donated over 160 pairs of glasses as part of Lions Clubs District 20-K1 NY Eyeglass Collection! Glasses are shipped to a Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center to be cleaned, sorted, and prepared to dispense, free of charge, to children and adults in need.
April 27, 2019 - The Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club celebrated Earth Day by doing general clean up of Hoover Park. We also spread compost and mulch to grass and flowers and had a ‘Spring Egg Hunt’ and Earth Day themed gifts for kids! - Click here to see pictures from this event.
April 13, 2019 - The Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club was proud to present an informative Community Meeting on the Virtual Senior Center program and various programs to Reduce Housing Costs, especially for senior citizens and the disabled!
December 3 - December 17, 2018 - Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club organized a collection of toys that were delivered to and distributed by the Department of Education in conjunction with Department of Homeless to children living in shelters throughout NYC.

August 25, 2018 - Some Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club members got to volunteer with some of the great folks from T.E.A.L. Tell Every Amazing Lady About Ovarian Cancer Louisa McGregor Ovarian Cancer Fdtn promotes awareness of Ovarian Cancer, provides support to survivors, and raises funds for research. Helped stuff goodie bags for the 10th Annual Brooklyn TEAL WALK.
July 22 - August 3, 2018 - Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club collected backpacks and school supplies for children living in New York City's homeless or domestic violence shelters as part of Operation Backpack NYC!
May 26, 2018 - Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club collected and donated nearly 90 pairs of glasses as part of Lions Clubs District 20-K1 NY Eyeglass Collection! Glasses are shipped to a Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center to be cleaned, sorted, and prepared to dispense, free of charge, to children and adults in need.
March 31, 2018 - The Briarwood/Kew Gardens Lions Club presented a Public Safety Community Meeting with representatives from the NY State Dept of Homeland Security and Emergency Services and Community Officers from the 102nd and 107th Precincts.
