The town of Breslau has grown rapidly over the past five years, with many young families filling the homes around town. In addition, there are plans for over a thousand new homes to be built over the next decade. As our community grows, so does the need for additional recreational options. We not only believe that a splash park in our town will allow the families of Breslau and the surrounding communities enjoy hours of safe water fun, but it will also promote health and activity through outdoor play.
With the support of the Township of Woolwich, the Lions club of Breslau has begun an active campaign to raise money and bring a splash park to Breslau. The proposed Splash Park will be one of the largest in the Region at 350m2 (3700 sq. ft.) and will be fully accessible. It will feature over 20 water play features including the “Mega Soaker” – a 340 L (90 Gallon) tipping bucket, a “Fun-Brella”, “Splash Blasters”, “Tappin’ Tunes” – a step-on piano that plays music and sprays water, and many other fun things. The park will also be environmentally friendly by incorporating an in-ground water storage tank that will recirculate the water through the water treatment UV system. With the help of OpenSpace solutions a site design has been developed, and through corporate and individual support, our fundraising is underway.
