Brea Host Lions Club
Our Proud History
Founded on July 25, 1922, the Brea Lions Club was the first service club in town and among the earliest in California. What began with 40 local pioneers at a luncheon in Pearson’s Café quickly grew into a century of service that continues today.
From its earliest days, Brea Lions have shaped our community—producing mayors, council members, business leaders, educators, and visionaries dedicated to improving lives. Over the decades, the club has supported causes such as vision care, youth programs, health initiatives, and community development, partnering with organizations like the City of Hope, Children’s Hospital of Orange County, Meals on Wheels, and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Brea Lions built and dedicated Pioneer Hall in 1923, hosted local sports scholarships, and helped restore the historic 1928 City Hall as a Scout Center. Through projects like the North/South High School All-Star Football Game and “Rent-a-Santa,” members have raised hundreds of thousands for charity while spreading joy to families and seniors.
Today, the Brea Lions remain a vibrant, service-minded family—continuing our legacy of leadership, compassion, and community pride for more than 100 years.
We Serve.
