Louisiana Lions Camp
One of the biggest state projects that Lions Clubs around the state take part in is, Louisiana Lions Camp. This camp is located in Leesville, Louisiana. This camp is held all summer long and serves individuals with physical and mental disabilities. These campers go to the camp for a weekand enjoy activities that they may not be able to experience on a daily basis. For example, at Camp these camperswho are wheelchair bound get to swim in the wheelchair accessible pool. They also get to do many sports that they may not usually get to do on a normal day. While at camp, Campers meet new friends and have access to doctors, nurses, counselors and recrecreational life.
Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation
The second project that we are interested in is Louisiana Eye Foundation. The eye foundation allows those who do not have insurance and cannot afford glasses the ability to get glasses for free. The Eye Foundation also hosts the glaucoma screening for adults to better catch this disease early.
The final project that we hope to work with is Cub Sight Screenings. This is when we work with individual children and screen them for different eye problems before they become severe. The Eye Foundation is Located in New Orleans at 2020 Gravier st. in the LSU Building.
