The Bossier City Lions Club is an active participant in the Louisiana Lions Cubsight Program, which is sponsored by the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation. Each year, the Bossier City Lions screen the vision of approximately 1,000 Bossier Head Start and daycare children, between the ages of one to five. Approximately 7 percent of these children are referred to a vision medical specialist for examination. Our club volunteers have been trained to utilize the Welch Allyn SureSight Vision Screener, which is accurate in screening for Amblyopia (lazy eye), Strabismus (cross-eyed) and several other vision problems that might require corrective attention.
