USA/CANADA FORUM
Lions Jeff and Deanna attended this year’s USA/ Canada forum in Calgary this year. Lion Jeff said it was a very packed three days. With so much to learn Lion Jeff noted it would take him a year to figure it all out, then another year to “serve the club” properly. Money well spent Lion Jeff. While attending the forum, Lion Jeff had the opportunity to meet our International President Brian Sheehan whose motto is “Make it a Great Day”. We can all have a great day, but how many of us strive to make it a great day for others?
Next year the USA/Canada forum will be held in Reno, Nevada. Get your reservations in now! This is the closest to Idaho the forum will be.
GUEST SPEAKER
Lion Paula introduced our guest speaker, Monique Smith, Executive Director of the Learning Lab. Lions have been working with the Learning Lab doing vision screening for several years. The Learning Lab is not only for vision screening low-income families, it is also a place for refugees and low-income families to improve their English language skills, earn their GED, earn their citizenship, and become an active part of our community. Last year there were 320 students from 37 countries of origin.
SEE YOU OCTOBER 5TH!
