Club Projects
The Boiling Springs Lions current projects consist of:
SERVICE:
1. Performing vision screening for school-age and pre-school children.
2. Collect used hearing aids for rehabilitation and reuse where needed.
3. Providing eye care (exams and glasses) for those in need.
4. Conducting semi-annual environmental roadside cleanup on Forge Rd.
5. Providing limited scholarships for graduating seniors at Boiling Springs High School.
6. Recognizing nine BSHS "Students of the Month" and their parents w/dinner at BSHS.
7. Recognize one "Teacher of the Year" and their family w/dinner at BSHS.
8. Sponsorship of a child with disabilities to Lions Beacon Lodge.
9. Donating to Leader Dogs for the Blind.
10. Collect, sort and package donated recyclable eyeglasses for shipment where needed.
11. Assist Lions Clubs Foundation by collecting donations for Disaster Relief.
12. Provide financial support for various needs of the local community area.
13. Provide financial support to WCCLP to assist with local projects too expensive for seven small Clubs in Western Cumberland County.
14. Volunteer hours at Project Share by assisting needy clients during the performance of their scheduled Food Pantry Shopping sessions.
FUND-RAISING:
1. Operate Club food booth at various locations and occasions including:
Karns Foods grocery in Boiling Springs.
First day of fishing at Boiling Springs Lake.
Foundry day in downtown Boiling Springs.
Fishing derby at Yellow Breeches Anglers Nursery Lake.
Numerous varying summertime musical events for the Bubbler Foundation.
2. Produce and sell our hand-made Christmas wreaths to residents in our community.
3. Members assist with scheduled ticket scanning function at the York Fair entrance gates.
