JUST WHAT HAVE THE LIONS DONE IN THE BOBCAYGEON COMMUNITY?
It's a question we often get asked!
Well, here is a snapshot of what Bobcaygeon & District Lions Club Members have been doing in the community through 2022:
- Bobcaygeon Helps Food Bank Emergency Delivery Service
- Fundraising BBQs at the Bobcaygeon Music Council's Music-In-The-Park Concerts every Thursday evening through July and August 2022. Over $4,000 raised for Lions and Local causes
- Tuesday Night BINGO - started in early October and ran until mid-December. (BINGO came to a grinding halt during the COVID-19 Pandemic, but has proved to be more popular than ever!)
- Fundraising BBQs - held at ValuMart in Bobcaygeon, and other locations like Settlers Village and at the 2019 Thunder In The Hills event in Minden, Ontario.
- Bobcaygeon Fall Fair - Catering and BBQ, which raised over $9,000
- Scrap Metal Collection Day - Held at the Legion in September, and which raised close to $1,500 for local Families-In-Need and our local Food Bank
- Fall Raffle - our first attempt to run a raffle. The prizes were gift cards for local businesses and the project raised over $3,200
- Bobcaygeon Kinettes Santa's Christmas Parade
- Participated in the 2022 Mingle & Jingle event sponsored by the Bobcaygeon Chamber of Commerce. The Club held a Bake Sale that raised over $700 for Local and Lions causes
And during the course of the year, Bobcaygeon Lions Club has donated funds and/or supported the following organizations and charities:
Over $22,200 was donated by Bobcaygeon & District Lions during the year, raised through hundreds of hours of volunteering by Lions Club Members at the various events mentioned above....and more.
