Service Activities

We sponsor the Annual Muskingum Valley Safetytown.  Lessons on car and pedestrian safety, strangers, bullying, bicycles, farms, boats, pools, poison, fires, emergencies, first aid, hand washing, seatbelts, guns, pets and playground safety are taught through videos, speakers, demonstrations and fun activities.  This is a true community event where many businesses, churches and other organizations donate money, snacks, water and time during the summer to ensure that kids ready to enter kindergarden have a chance to learn some important life lessons in a fun and memorable way!

Beverly-Waterford Easter Egg Hunt:  Sponsored by the Beverly Lions Club and the Muskingum Valley Leo Club, our Easter Egg Hunt brings joy to so many youth and families.  Normally held in Dodge Park, the hunt is for children preschool through fourth grade.  Participants should bring their own baskets!

Christmas Auction:  Held at Beverly Methodist Church the Sunday after the Beverly Christmas Parade, all proceeds go to benefit Diabetes Research and Pediatric Cancer.  This great community event has raised over $60,000 so far!

Scholarships for Waterford & Fort Frye:  Our club awards scholarships to two  graduating seniors (one from Waterford & one from Fort Frye) to help them in their higher education.  These scholarships are funded through our Pancake Breakfasts and other club functions.

Muskingum Valley Leo Club:  We are the sponsors of our local Leo Club.  Through membership in the Leos, area youth get to learn leadership skills and the joy of serving their community and those in need.  The Leos and Lions often work together on service projects such as the one pictured here where Leos and Lions decorated the gazebo in Dodge Park at Christmas.

Vision Care:  The Lions have always been involved in vision care.  From collecting used eyeglasses, to helping residents receive exams and glasses that they can't afford, to performing vision screening in preschools, they Lions believe that good eyesight is one of the foundations of a healthy life.

And so much more!  To learn more about the Lions and our service to the community, stop in at one of our meetings, ask one of our members or just volunteer for one of our projects.  We'd love to invite you to join us in service!
