WORLD LITRACY DAY 14/09/2016
#LIONS100The president lion Galvin Osaretin OSAYANDE,project director lion Micheal Ebesunfu and members of Benin Royal lions clubb embarked on a literacy program at Benin Oko prison in Benin city Edo state, Nigeria to mark the world literacy day. Our theme is READING THE PAST AND WRITING THE FUTURE. No person shall be denied the right to education, in the exercise of any functions which it assumes in relation to education and its teaching, the world shall respect the right to education no matter where you may be. Several donations were made, which included a standing book shelves @ 45k and about 100+ books @59k. During the visit it was discovered that there was a football tournament ongoing at the prison, so the club went further to donate a crafted trophy to be presented to the winner @20k. The staff and inmates appreciated the Lions Club's gesture

CENTENNIAL YOUTHS ENGAGEMENTS 8-14 2016
#LIONS100The president lion Galvin Osaretin OSAYANDE, with other club members of the Benin Royal Lions Club, went on a mission of engaging the youths at the National Youths Council of Nigeria, Benin City, Edo State, to mark the centennial service challenge goals of serving 25 million people in the world. Selected students from various schools were invited to partake in the centennial projects. The participants were engaged in different activities like: Reading Action Program, spelling, essay competition, interactions with some governorship aspirants, on vote is not fight. At the end of the session winners were awarded gift items such as notebooks, dictionaries, digital calculators, biro’s. In the same vain 2 brilliant youths, who have acquired training at the youth center but could not start up their personal business because of lack of fund. Were empowered with a sewing machine and a multi-purpose oven respectively at the cost of N 95,000. The management, the trainees of the National Youth Center of Nigeria, Edo State, and also the students, appreciated the efforts of the international association of lions club and the Benin Royal lions Club district 404-A1 Nigeria in particular for this kind gestures.

Hospital bills relief project
#LIONS100The president and members of Benin Royal Lions club visited Benin city central hospital to discharge 2 brand new mums,who were unable to leave the hospital for more than a month plus, due to non payment of their medical bills. Both deliveries were by caesarian section, making the bills unexpectedly high for the patients. The club contributed and cleared their outstanding hospital bills amounting to N153,700. Mothers and babies are now joyfully united with their families. The brand new mums and the hospital management thanked lions club international and commended the efforts of Benin Royal Lions Club in particular.
