School District 87 schools did an outstanding job raising money with our Sight First for Kids -- Paper Eyeglasses sale, where we sponsor school children to "sell" paper eyeglasses to raise funds and raise awareness of Lionism in the community.  Here are the results:

First Place:  Whittier School $ 1,102

Second Place:  Sunnyside School   $ 395

Third Place:  Jefferson School  $ 292

Fourth Place:  Riley School  $ 180

Fifth Place:  Northlake Middle School $ 136

Congratulations to these schools and our District 87 Lion members Tracey Clinton, Kevin Grochowski, and Keith Wood

The Bellwood Lions Club sponsored local schools in submitting individual student entries in the annual International Lions Club Peace Poster Contest.  We saw a terrific response and sent our club winner to the international level for competition.  We didn't win, but the experience was rewarding for participants and our club.  Better luck next year!

The club Donated and served refreshments at Berkeley's free Wednesday evening outdoor concert at  "Music In The Park ."
