 Welcome to the

Belize City Sub Umbra Floreo Cubs Program

Discover the Cubs Program
The Belize City Sub Umbra Floreo Lions Club is proud to introduce the Cubs Program, a special initiative designed for children aged 12 and younger. This exciting program aims to teach kids the joy of volunteering while nurturing a lifelong dedication to helping those in need. Cubs do not need to be related to a Lions member to participate; they only need a willingness to help and have fun!

How the Program Works
Cubs are children aged 12 or younger who are interested in service and show commitment giving back to the community. A Cub club is formed by five or more Cubs are working together. Cubs can take on responsibilities at Lions-planned events or even plan their own events and hold fundraisers. A Lion member from the parent lions club will be designated as the contact to the Cubs and oversee their activities.

Why Join the Cubs Program?
By joining the Cubs Program, children will:

  • Learn valuable skills in leadership and teamwork.
  • Participate in fun and meaningful service projects.
  • Make new friends and become active members of their community.
  • Develop a passion for helping others that will last a lifetime.

Activities and Service Projects

Cubs can participate in various service projects either alongside Lions or independently. Some activity ideas include:

  • Hunger: Collect or prepare items for donation to shelters or feeding programs.
  • Environment: Organize recycling drives and park clean-ups.
  • Vision: Partner with organizations supporting the visually impaired.
  • Childhood Cancer: Bring toys to hospitals or organize donation drives.
  • Diabetes: Learn about healthy eating and create educational materials.

Cub Leadership Opportunities

Cubs can take on leadership roles, such as:

  • President: Leads meetings and provides updates to the Lions Club.
  • Vice President: Assists in meetings and reports on activities.
  • Secretary: Takes notes and attendance.
  • Project Coordinators: Lead specific projects and present updates.

Each role is supported by a Lion club member.
