Belfast Lions Club got their fundraising efforts underway with a Table Quiz at the Wellington Park Hotel on May 5th 2011. The date was chosen because many Lions had arrived in Belfast for the Multiple District 105 annual convention at the Waterfront Hall. Among the visiting groups who gave us support were Garforth & District Lions Club from Yorkshire. Local Clubs were also very supportive and Antrim Coast Club provided all the questions and Roisin Wills acted as quizmaster.

Ballynahinch Lions Club sent a team to take part and their President Dr Richard Harrison presented a cheque for £250 to add to the funds. This support was much appreciated. The final total achieved was over £900, getting our fundraising off to a great start. District Governor for Ireland Terence Mangan and Lions Council Chairman Jacquie Prebble also called in to give their support and encouragement.
