On July 2nd 2010 in Sydney Australia history was made in district 20-K1, it was on this day that I was elected to the International Board of Directors of Lions Clubs International. There were over twelve thousand lions from all over the world there to witness this historic event.

This is the first time our district has had the honor of having representations on the board.

I am honored to be that lion and I pledge to you that I will do my very best to serve our association and the lions of the world.

Our International President Sid Scruggs of Vass, North Carolina has chosen (A Beacon of Hope) as his theme. President Scruggs wants us to focus on service activities.

Over the next two years my travels will take me too many parts of the country, just for starters. I have speaking engagements in Alabama, Kentucky, Ohio, Texas and California to name a few.

I look forward to sharing my experiences with you in future issues of the Kings and Queens Newspaper.

I want to thank the many lions and clubs for their well wishes and kind words. I ask that you keep me in your prayers as I continue this awesome journey.
