Carolyns Chemo Caps

Carolyn's Chemo Caps

Battunga Lions is proud to support Carolyns Chemo Caps, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to providing free, handmade hats to cancer patients experiencing hair loss from chemotherapy.

The organisation was founded in memory of Carolyn Krabbe, who found comfort in wearing soft caps during her own cancer treatment. In her honor, volunteers hand-knit and crochet caps using soft, hypoallergenic yarns to provide both physical comfort and emotional support to patients.

Their mission is simple: to offer a tangible gesture of care and hope, letting recipients know they are not alone in their fight against cancer. All caps are given freely to patients, hospitals, and cancer centers. If you want to find out more about this great cause visit Carolyn's Chemo Caps and consider making a donation.

Lions Assistance Dogs

Welcome to Webster, the latest and cutest candidate for the Lions Assistance Dog program, proudly supported by the Battunga Lions.

Lions Assistance Dogs is a charitable program within Australia dedicated to breeding, training, and providing assistance dogs to Australians living with disabilities, free of charge.

These highly trained dogs perform essential tasks to increase their handlers' independence, safety, and quality of life. The program relies on the support of local Lions Clubs, volunteers, and community donations to cover the significant costs of training and caring for each dog throughout its journey.

By connecting a specially trained dog with someone in need, Lions Assistance Dogs empowers individuals to live more independently and actively participate in their communities.

Lions BBQs

Lions BBQs

The air is thick with the irresistible, smoky scent of grilling burgers and sizzling sausages, a universal signal of community and good times. Under the cheerful shade of pop-up tents, members of the Battunga Lions Club, clad in their signature vests, work with practiced efficiency, flipping burgers, assembling plates, and sharing laughs with every person who steps up to the serving line. This is more than just a meal; it's the heart of a community tradition. The sound of sizzling meat mingles with the buzz of conversation and the clinking of donation buckets, each dollar raised fueling the Lions' vital work in supporting local charity programs, youth initiatives, and community projects. It’s a place to see familiar faces, make new friends, and leave with a full stomach and the warm satisfaction of having contributed to a great cause.

Battunga Lions hosts fundraising BBQs at a wide range of community events and special occasions across the district so look for the Lions logo at these events.
