Barrhaven Lions Fundraising

The Barrhaven Lions is an organization of volunteers who serve the needs of the community in helping the sight impaired, the sick and those in need through charitable endeavours. In order to do this we raise funds through various projects and activities within our community.

One significant fund raising activity results in membership of the Bingoland Gaming Charities Association and volunteering at the Bingoland Gaming Centre. While there, we greet patrons as they enter, clean away bingo cards and empty food/drink containers, wipe down gaming slot machines and chairs, and engage with the patrons.

We thank all of the patrons at the Bingoland Gaming Centre as the funds we raise there has allowed us to provide funding to many local charities and needy individuals.

Here is a partial list of those charities we have been fortunate enough to assist:

Barrhaven Food Cupboard, FAMSAC, The Ottawa Mission, Britannia Woods Community House, Ronald MacDonald House, Children's School Breakfast Program, QC Hospital Foundation, Diabetes Canada (Ottawa), QuickStart Early Intervention for Autism, Ottawa Hospital Eye Centre & Bruyere Pallitive Care Hospital, etc.

With these funds we have also been able to support our community organizations:

Canada Day in Barrhaven (sponsorship and cake handout), Bursaries for 4 Local High Schools, Nepean Sports Wall of Fame, A Drone for Emergency Search and Rescue Group.
