STAND DOWN ON THE DELTA

The Stand Down on the Delta is an event that is put on every other year at the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds.  The next Stand Down is on September 8-11, 2023 

Homeless Veterans will be housed for four day's at the CCC FAIRGROUNDS in Antioch, Ca. Veterans will receive a variety of services.  Saturday the event is open to the public as well.

Antioch Rivertown Veterans Lions Club President Jim has a passion for fishing, music, family and veterans. I am not sure of the order but I do know that he is driven to give back to those who have served our country and to have some fun while doing that. I can attest to his love for fishing because he spent six months trying to figure out and engineer a way for the veterans attending the Stand Down on the Delta last September to experience the joy of fishing. Creating a man-made pond filled with fish was not an easy task and if you have a few minutes he could tell you about it.
