Local Businesses Show Their True Colors...by paying for the Flags that Lions fly on eight holidays during the year!

Our Flag Program funds Lions activities that go directly back to our community.

We put out flags on 8 holidays a year -

Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus/Indigenous Peoples Day, Veterans Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, & Juneteenth

If you are a local business and want to support the Anacortes Lions Flag Program for just $40 per flag per year, we would love to welcome you as a "flag bearer" for our local community!

The Lions Clubs were appointed as the "Knights for the Blind" by Helen Keller and recently formed a muti-district "Knghts for the Blind" group to promote awareness and services for those with Vision Impairment, including a White Cane Awareness day in October. Lions Global Causes are Vision, Diabetes, Hunger, Enviroment, Childhood Cancer and Disaster Relief.

To aid in those causes, your donations provide eye exams and glasses for families who meet the low income criteria. We provide vision and hearing screening for the Anacortes school district's annual screening and for children in participating preschools. Funds raised also allow us to award scholarships for two AHS students and scholarships for 2 special needs students to attend vocational training. We also support the Fire Department, the Police Department K9 program, Island Hospital Diabetes program and the local food banks.

We organize the annual Anacortes Christmas Parade and Easter Egg hunt at Causland Park, plus two special needs egg hunts (1 for those with vision impairments where we blindfold their siblings if they want to participate). We also participate in community events like Links for the Library, Serenity Princess Ball, Kids R Best Fest, National Night Out, Ready to Learn Fair and the annual multi-club cleanup of Deception Pass Park among other activities.

If you would like to participate, see PDF below to print out the form to send in.

The cost is $40 for each flag per year, to be set out by our Club on 8 national holidays a year. If there is no hole in the curb, the Anacortes Lions Club Drill Team will drill holes at no cost to you ( already approved by the City of Anacortes) other options available too.

You can pay by:

mailing us a check for the total amount to Anacortes Lions Club, PO Box 61, Anacortes, WA 98221 (please include your business name, address, contact name, phone and email address)

or email us with your business name, address, contact name, phone and email address with the number of flags you want  and we will send you an invoice to pay through Paypal with credit card.
