Texas Lions Camp is a residential summer camp located in Kerrville, Texas, in the heart of the Hill Country. Established in 1949 and sponsored by the Lions Clubs of Texas, it provides a free summer camp experience for children with physical disabilities, Down syndrome, cancer, and Type 1 diabetes. [1, 2]

Key features of the camp include:

  • Completely Free of Charge: The camp costs approximately $1,850 per child per week, but all costs are covered by the Lions of Texas and generous donors. [1]
  • Adapted Activities: Campers can participate in accessible activities such as horseback riding, swimming, archery, and a rock-climbing wall. [1, 2]
  • Age Range: Programs are primarily designed for children and teens between the ages of 7 and 16, though they also offer family camp experiences. [1, 2]

The camp’s mission is to help children with special medical conditions build confidence, independence, and a "can-do" attitude in a safe, supportive environment. [1, 2]
