                                  WELCOME ALDONA LIONS CLUB

                               PRESIDENT                              SECRETARY

The Lions Club of Aldona has maintained its affiliation with Lions International for 47 years. The club was established under the sponsorship of the Lions Club Panjim, officially inaugurated on January 13, 1979. On the same day, the inaugural Board of Directors was instated, with the late Lieutenant (Retd) Lion A.J.L Figueiredo e Mello serving as the Charter President. The club received its charter on March 6, 1979, commencing with 35 Charter members.

Currently, our membership comprises 54 individuals (as of 2026). We operate on the principle that collective effort significantly amplifies impact beyond individual capabilities. We firmly believe that effective solutions emerge when each Lions Club diligently fulfills its  community and, at times, extend support to adjacent villages. We manage several ongoing permanent initiatives, including:

1.  *Vision Screening Project:* In the 2025-2026 fiscal year alone, we have conducted vision screenings for over 18,000 students across our village and neighboring communities.

2.  *Medical Equipment Bank:* This initiative provides essential medical equipment, such as Farrow beds and wheelchairs, to residents of our village on a temporary, complimentary basis, thereby alleviating the need for individuals to purchase new equipment. We intend to broaden this service to other villages as our equipment inventory expands.

3.  *Life Saver Project:* Our club is committed to supporting cardiac patients by offering "Platinum 10 minutes support" within our village and surrounding areas. This is achieved through a fully equipped Bike Ambulance staffed by a paramedic certified in CPR and AED usage. A Memorandum of Understanding was executed with the Government of Goa on March 9, 2026, with project implementation slated for April 2026.

[9:07 am, 10/03/2026] Aldona Club President: I will upload recent activities of our Club.  Should we also publish names of members? Other clubs are doing the same?
