WELCOME TO THE
There were a few historic details behind the name of Akividu and Madiwada. ( around A.D 1667 ) Under the rule of Golconda Sultan, Akkanna and Maadanna served as ministers in the kingdom of Abdul Hassan Tanesha. On the occasion of the visit of Akkanna and Maadanna to the twin villages, The villages got the names Akkana-veedu and Maadanna-vaada. with the passage of time, The villages are as AKIVIDU and MADIWADA ( Akividu and Madiwada are referred as Akividu).
Akividu was part in the magistrate of Nidadavole under the Zamindary of Nuzvid in the adjoining Krishna District. In 1914, Akividu gram panchayat was formed with an English man as its first president.
After the formation of West Godavari District in 1925, Akividu was part in Bhimavaram Taluka.
Now, Akividu is the Mandal Head Quarters with the revenue villages of Akividu, Madiwada and Dharmapuram Agraharam.
WHAT WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
Akividu Abahaya Lions club is a local club to raise funds to assist poor people and disability and blind persons and those who need in our community who cannot help themselves.
Our Club members come from all walks of life, self employed, Business men.Govt.servants, Agriculturists,market specilists and other activists.
There are some good gifts receive from voluntering, they are;
FRIENDSHIp :joining with like minded people we meet and work with on projects
and activities an trying to help the community.
KNOWLEDGE: Knowing that what we do matters to ourselves, our friends,and our
community.
CHARECTOR : Learning that what we do not only helps our community but also
helps us became better people and better citizens in our community.
PURPOSE : Having a reason for being. To be able to help others without thought
of a return to us for our efforts. Thanks is more than sufficient.
